Building the infrastructure for national healing

ICAR’s impact is measured in the shared infrastructure we build for the field: clearer data, stronger coordination, smarter investment, and faster collective action.

NGOs mapped across Israel’s trauma and resilience ecosystem

Participants convened at the 2026 ICAR Summit

Stakeholders interviewed across sectors

Guided into trauma healing and resilience initiatives

Research, ecosystem, and field-building resources shared

Seed funding secured for a national psychoeducation campaign

ICAR turns field intelligence into coordinated action by mapping the ecosystem, convening leaders, building shared knowledge, guiding investment, and launching practical initiatives.

To coordinate effectively, the field first needs a clear view of itself.

ICAR has built ICAR Connect, an ecosystem-wide mapping platform that brings visibility to Israel’s trauma and resilience landscape, including 475+ NGOs. By identifying key actors, service gaps, duplication, and opportunities for coordination, ICAR Connect helps the field move with greater clarity and alignment.
ICAR’s ecosystem research also includes targeted projects mapping trauma-trained workforce capacity, trauma research, and population-specific services.

ICAR convenes leaders across sectors to address gaps no single organization can solve alone.

Through roundtables, working groups, and large-scale gatherings, including the 2026 ICAR Summit with 500+ participants, ICAR helps translate shared challenges into aligned priorities, practical collaboration, and coordinated action.
Recent focus areas include reservist and family service navigation, healing farm quality standards, workforce capacity, technology integration, and national mental health literacy.

ICAR translates field insight, research, and lived realities into practical knowledge for decision-makers.

Through 450+ stakeholder interviews and 100+ reports, articles, and field resources, ICAR helps funders, policymakers, practitioners, and partners understand what is working, where gaps remain, and where coordinated action is needed.
This shared evidence base helps the field move from fragmented learning to informed, coordinated action.

Israel’s trauma and mental health field is complex, fast-moving, and difficult to navigate.

ICAR helps funders and partners understand the landscape, identify high-impact opportunities, and reduce duplication. To date, ICAR has helped guide $16M+ in philanthropic capital into the resilience and mental health field.
By connecting capital with field intelligence, ICAR helps resources move toward urgent needs and scalable solutions.

ICAR has brought together 30+ cross-sector partners to launch a national psychoeducation campaign that equips Israelis with tools to understand emotional responses to trauma, support one another, reduce stigma, and know when to seek help.

The campaign is designed to bring foundational mental health knowledge to the public and support earlier, more informed help-seeking.
This work responds directly to the need for long-term resilience, community-based healing, and broader mental health literacy across Israeli society.

ICAR is now focused on moving from field-building to implementation in several high-impact areas.

Breaking down silos by identifying effective practices and sharing them across sectors.

Helping Israelis understand trauma responses, reduce stigma, build coping strategies, and know when to seek support.

Mapping mental health capacity to identify where support exists, where gaps remain, and where resources are needed.

Developing trusted navigation and referral pathways that help reservists access the right support at the right time.

Supporting evidence-based research while exploring promising methods and technologies that can expand Israel’s trauma-healing toolkit.

Help strengthen Israel’s mental health future
